Hello, fans! I have some exciting news for those of you who haven't heard about them yet. If you bought Patriot, the flagship dealer special run from last year, you will probably want this upcoming flagship model. This horse's name is Liberty. He is on the popular Silver mold and is limited to only 3,000 pieces. He reminds me of Twill from Breyerfest 2013 with the wedgewood blue coloring and the denim jean pattern. I believe Breyer is trying to do a new series with the Americana pattern. Another recent release to Collector Club members only was Scotty. Apparently last year at Breyerfest in the Collector Club tent they had members vote on which color of the Swaps mold they liked the most. The colors were replicas of colors done on rare horses in the past. For example: The glossy dark bay tobiano Scotty is supposed to represent Jazz Fusion, the connoisseur model done on the Cleveland Bay mold in 2007 that was limited to 350 pieces. The pattern is ok but this horse has more white on it than I like to see. The dun with a bald face and dappling was supposed to represent Fandango. Fandango was the rarest model of all the horses these Classics represented. He was a Breyerfest Live Show prize made on the Andalusian mold in 2004 and there were only 5 models made. I liked this horse second best. Now this horse was my personal favorite. This stunning bay roan blanket appaloosa Scotty was portrayed to represent Burbank, who was a special run made on the Nokota mold for the Velvet Rope Event in 2008. He was limited to only 100 pieces. Many of you probably know who this horse is, some of you may even have him, as he wasn't as rare as the other models. This horse is portrayed after Uncalled For, the glossy red silver bay made on the Strapless mold in 2005. He was a Collector's Choice edition that was limited to a 6 month production. Frankly I'm not really fond of the color of this one because I think the mane/tail should be more of a silvery grey than white, but he would make a great mini me if you already own the original traditional. In the end, three of them ended up winning the votes. According to Breyer, the votes were so close that they decided to offer a gambler's choice of them. In other words, you don't know which one you're going to get. I bought one because gambler's choices always excited me and I thought he was a good price. Scotty was limited to one per Collector Club member while supplies lasted so I'm not sure how many they ended up making, but probably not that many. If you're not a part of the Collector Club but would like to purchase Scotty, try checking eBay or Model Horse Sales Pages within the next few weeks.
Update: I received my Scotty today and I'm so pleased that I received the one that I wanted! I'm a sucker for roans and was hoping that I'd get the bay roan appaloosa. What is even more exciting is that I thought it was matte but apparently it is semi-gloss and the speckles are a beautiful additive, as I could not see that from the pictures. I'm very happy with this purchase! He is definitely a looker! Comments are closed.
