I'm excited to announce that there is going to be a plushie at Breyerfest this year after all! I'm not sure what the delay was on Breyer's part, but I'm suspecting it had something to do with not wanting to include them on the VIP tickets for some reason since, ironically, the VIP tickets went off sale just last week and the plushie wasn't an option. Now, they're showing us the plush. Hmm? Breyer has also posted on social media for those who missed it that Blue Zeus, who was originally being limited to 3,000 pieces, will now be available for backorder all weekend long! I am so happy that they did this because now I don't have to worry about waiting in line at Breyerfest while on my phone trying to also snag a Blue Zeus. This guy must come home with me because he goes far better with upcoming Firestorm than even original Fireheart does, if it weren't for the dun foal. All I have to say in regards to this is... thank you, Breyer! So if you're wanting Blue Zeus, be sure to get an online ticket so you can snag him for yourself :) While I'm no longer offering store specials through my website, if you contact me the week before Breyerfest weekend, I can still pick up any of the store specials for a small fee on top of their asking price, as this helps pay for the credit card fee and taxes that Breyer charges, as well as a small courtesy to stand in line for at least an hour just to get into the store. The store specials sold out by the end of the day on Friday so I'll need to know what you're interested in before then. I'm willing to pick up anything except the crystal because I don't like to risk sending that through the mail. I'll only charge an extra $15 for the stablemate, classics model and plushie (plus actual shipping to you) and $20 for the traditionals (plus actual shipping to you).
As a reminder, I will likely have some suprise models available the weekend of Breyerfest, and they'll be available that you can choose your color from the colors I have pulled. The more I sell, the more I can buy more Wild Card tickets to go back through the line and pull more colors to offer.

I guess I was correct in my assumption that the sneak peek shown in the Collector Club newsletter, because the CCA event will be happening tomorrow, and Battlefield is included as part of the event. There is also going to be a glossy Orren Mixer appaloosa, a glossy Get Rowdy and (most likely the favorite of all) a glossy Mojave! I'm not a variation collector, and since I already have three of the four models being used in my personal collection, I won't be participating in this event, although I do think this has been one of the best lineups so far for the CCA event. No glossy bays for once, which was always what I would end up with in past events. Good luck to those who participate at getting what you want, and yes, you have to be a Collector Club member to be able to participate :)
Those of you who attended the Spokes and Spurs event... I'll admit I'm jealous of you all! This was the one event I really wanted to attend ever since Chasing the Chesapeake. Alas, it wasn't to be, but I sure do hope to attend an event one of these years. I'm hoping for something a little closer to Kentucky that isn't 9 hours or more away, but I think I'm hoping for too much since Breyerfest takes place in Kentucky and I think the wonderful people at Breyer are trying to include people in the hobby from around the country that maybe can't attend Breyerfest. I'm sure there are people that feel the same about Breyerfest, which I'm blessed to be able to attend, so I get it. I'm just mad about it :P Anyways I'm loving the pictures that people are taking. The horses are breathtakingly beautiful and the barns... oh my goodness! You could literally eat off the floor! Well, maybe not, but you get what I'm saying. These horses live in a better home than I do, and I'm always mystified at the architecture of each different facility. I've been to those fancy stallion barns here in Kentucky, and let me tell you, they are magnificent! As Red Pollard said in the Seabiscuit movie when he saw War Admiral's barn "I want to be a horse!" Amongst the photos of the amazing faciilities, I saw a pamphlet shared of the special runs available at this event. Each were $250 and, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that you were able to pick two of them per ticket, just like at Breyerfest. I don't have a picture of Wimpy in hand, but he is just as yummy as I thought he'd be! He was the main reason I wanted to attend this event to add him to my Bobby Jo conga, but after seeing the special runs, I could've used a few more. Usually I only like one, maybe two, of the event special runs. This year, I'm falling in love with that rose grey Esprit, the John Henry and especially the Misty/Stormy set. Not being able to have those is going to hurt, as I collect all of those molds. I'm really surprised at the vintage molds in this lineup, with only Faded Love and Ozark being newer. Maybe because of the cowboy and old west theme?
Zayn arrived today, and I ended up with my second choice, the chestnut rabicano. I haven't had anything on this mold since Julien and Sophia, whom I sold a while ago, so you can probably understand why I forgot how huge this mold is compared to other Classic molds. He... doesn't really look like an Arabian to me, but I can't really put my finger on what he does look like. Not a Quarter Horse because of the wavy mane and raised tail. Has a Saddlebred-like prance to him, but far too chunky for a Saddlebred. I'm going to go with a Morgan... Anyways my guy has quite a bit of roaning compared to some of the others I've seen. Also, because he is a vintage mold, sometimes they lack certain details from being made for so many years, and in my little man's case it is his hooves. His hooves were not even when they molded the sides together, and the result looks like he has a hoof chip. I think it adds character but I know if I ever sold him that it would actually be considered a flaw. I'm going to try to hunt down the bloody shoulder on the second hand market though.
Before I pop off of here, I wanted to let everyone know in honor of Kentucky Derby week I have added some Thoroughbred goodies to my website, including some rarer club models. Please be sure to check them out! Shipping will be FREE using the code FREESHIP for tomorrow and Saturday only. Take advantage of it if you've been eyeing something for a while and have a good weekend everyone :) |
