Mid years leaked? Say it isn't so! Apparently on social media the buzz is about a couple of leaks of suspected mid year releases that ended up on the Breyer website. One of them is Mojave, a model that personally makes me a bit upset right now, mostly because I just sold off all of my Fireheart conga and then they have to make a model on that mold that is not only flashy but also one of my favorite pinto patterns... chestnut overo. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have one on that mold, right? I don't believe this guy is the Collector Club sneak peek shown in the monthly newsletter, who has a similar color and pattern but plastic that isn't as smooth as Fireheart, which makes me think it is going to be a vintage model. It is most likely the annual Classic gambler's choice, although I'm really surprised they're continuing that since they've already released Shelby as a gambler's choice. Maybe a Classics and Traditional each year will be a new thing? One can hope. According to Breyer we'll be finding out who exactly it is in the newsletter come June. The other mid year was leaked in the Young Rider magazine (for members of the kids club) in the form of a new Strapless, and I'm also excited for this one! My little Thoroughbred racehorse loving heart cannot wait to get my grabby hands on Full Moon Rising, a portrait model of the beautiful sabino racehorse turned dressage horse. I wonder if these will be it or if there will be more not shown yet? I feel like with the Breyerfest advert on the magazine above we should discuss that topic, as it is coming up soon before we know it. Can y'all believe that in a few days it'll be NEXT MONTH?! Crazy how the time is flying! The biggest announcement is that if you don't order in person tickets by June 4th, they will NOT be mailed to you, and you must pick them up at the will call window. It sounds like all ticket sales will be halted after July 4th by their email. VIP ticket holders had the opportunity to be drawn for a private farm tour of Hillcroft Farm where celebration horse, Bravour 54, is from. Only 100 lucky attendees would be able to go to this event, being held the Wednesday before Breyerfest (there will be a shuttle from the KHP to the farm) and it was selected via lottery draw. I did not get VIP tickets this year so I will not be attending, but it sounds like it will be fun for those who do! The horse farms in Lexington are a MUST if you haven't been to one yet.
People have been asking me if I plan to attend Equilocity this year, and my answer is that I will most likely try to stop by, however I won't be doing the Ice Cream Social that I did last year. With Amy gone from the company, I just feel like it'll be too depressing to go this time. If you haven't seen the Ice Cream Social pebbles mule, I highly recommend checking him out. He is adorable, but I just don't collect mules unfortunately. Those of you who have purchased tickets by the May 14th date should now have access to the preference form. This is where you fill out your top choices from the special runs and submit your list by May 18th. To submit your preference form, you can either go through the email that Breyer sent out OR if you're like me and didn't get the email, go under the "Events" tab on Breyer's website and in the dropdown menu you'll see a new section called "Breyerfest Special Run Preferences" with this logo above it: Click on that link and it'll take you to a page with that logo at the time, displaying the special runs with the amount they are to be sold for underneath. At the very bottom you must put in the email address your tickets are under (it'll say how many tickets you have at the top of the page) and if you want to do the individual list or the master list. The master list is the way to go if you want more than one of the special runs, as with the individual lists you could end up with duplicates, unless duplicates is what you want but in which case the master list is still the better choice because you can put more than one of the same special run on your form.
Tip: Be sure to fill out all the optional choices if you want to use both special run slots on your ticket. If you leave the optional slots empty (even if you don't have enough tickets to cover them because they give you 18 slots which equals 9 tickets) it is possible you could not be given a special run for your second ticket at all. At the very least, put in "wild card" for your selection, that way if you don't get your top choices, it'll give you a wild card rather than just taking that ticket away altogether so you can see if your top choice is available in the wild card tent at Breyerfest. Just because you aren't drawn for your top choice doesn't necessarily mean it sold out, it could just mean the computer didn't generate you one. I hope this helps! My forms were submitted yesterday and now we just wait. Someone correct me in the comments if I'm wrong but I haven't seen a date when Breyer said they'll be drawing from the list so I'm hoping we'll know far earlier than we did last year when Breyer didn't send tickets until the very end of June. I'll keep y'all posted when I hear something! I've just come back from visiting family for the past week in Ohio, and I have a lot to catch up on. If you watched the Kentucky Derby this past weekend, you know what the Preakness Stakes is. Well, when we were driving through Louisville on our way to Ohio, we were behind the horse van taking some of the horses from Churchill Downs to Pimlico, and I thought my horse loving fans on here would share my excitement. We followed them up to Columbus when they had to turn east towards Maryland while we chugged along up to northeast Ohio. First off, I wanted to remind those that will be attending Breyerfest either online or in person that want to submit a preference list for your chance to get your top picks for special runs that you must get your order for tickets in by Monday. There will still be in person tickets available after this time, but they will be "wild card" tickets, meaning you'll get your choice of the leftovers and you may not get what you want. Online ticket holders will NOT be able to purchase ANY special runs after this date. If you plan to attend online and order after tomorrow, you will only have access to the limited edition (store specials) and not the opportunity to get a special run at all. Those who have pre-ordered from me, I will know if I am able to get your top choices from my preference list once tickets are mailed by Breyer, hopefully by July 1st when the second payment will be required. If I don't get your top pick, I will try to either exchange my ticket with someone at Breyerfest to get your top pick or get a wild card ticket in hopes of getting your top pick from the extras. I have a 90% success rate from previous years, however if on the rare chance I am not able to get your pre-ordered model, I will message you the Monday after Breyerfest when I get home to give you the option of either trading for one of my extra models (price will be adjusted accordingly) or a full refund of your money. If I was able to secure your top pick, I will send your shipping invoice the Monday after Breyerfest, and ship your models out as soon as that is paid. All models will be sold as is this year since last year they wouldn't allow me to exchange for flaws, and the original packaging will be exchanged for bubblewrap. If you have not yet seen the new packaging, I'll post Breyer's video below: While we're on the subject, I wanted to talk about next year. I wanted to announce ahead of time that I will be taking a break from pre-orders for Breyerfest pickups due to the fact that it will be an anniversary year. That said, I will still be doing pickups, just not pre-ordered pickups, meaning that I'm still going to buy the usual amount of tickets I buy each year. However, models will be listed after Breyerfest and not sold in January ahead of time as I have done the past few years. I will announce the date/time these models will be posted on my website but will likely be available the first day of the Breyerfest event. If I happen to pull a special variation, as I'm expecting there will be some thrown in for their anniversary, it will be priced according to market average. Stablemate Club members... don't forget to put in your order for Sidewinder by May 18th. I just put in my order for mine so I probably won't receive him until next week. Likewise, I'm surprised to see that Shelby is still available, so I don't think that I'm going to take the gambler's chance this time, especially after seeing the pinto (my second choice) in hand. I didn't really care for the half blonde/half white mane or the reddish hue, so I think that I'm going to hold off and just buy the appaloosa second hand. Either Breyer made a ton of these guys, to which second hand prices shouldn't be too bad once the hype is over, or people just didn't like the gambler's choice idea for a traditional. By golly, Breyer. You'd make a ton more sales if you'd just let us buy what we want! Unbelievably I ended up finding the flagship mare and foal, Mariposa and Flor, at my old dealer friend in Ohio. I never, ever thought I'd be able to get my hands on a set since they're sold out just about everywhere on the internet, but my old dealer never posted his models for sale online, and I'm happy to add them to my collection. I hand picked a set with a lighter foal since it looked like my ex-Thoroughbred gelding, Ace, as a baby. Like many, they had some small factory flaws but nothing I couldn't live with. Thankfully the mare didn't have the usual shoulder rub many have been stumbling across. There was a "bird" release while I was gone, who isn't available to enter for on Breyer's website anymore, so I honestly don't know when she was actually available, but it was Sparrow, the sneak peek from the newsletter last month. She was stunning, and I really wish I could've entered for her (although it's been a couple years since I've been picked for a lottery draw so I no longer enter for them anymore anyways) because she was a color I collect... silver bay with the most stunning dapples to boot. I did get the email where Breyer announced there would be a delay in announcing winners, so good luck to those crossing their fingers for this gal! Finally, I did take my painting kit with me while I was away and finished a couple "Misty" customs, if you'd like to check them out on my eBay page. I will be donating a portion of the proceeds of these customs privately to saving the Beebe Ranch fund, as eBay does not have a way to donate directly through their Giving Works right now. I am also working on a Classics and Traditional sized Misty horse as well, but they won't be available for another week. I truly do appreciate those that support my artwork, as it gives me motivation to make more customs and, possibly, my own line of custom models.
To all those that it applies, whether you're a mother of tiny humans or furbabies, I wish y'all a happy Mother's Day! |
