I was asked to make a list of the deals Breyer offered on their website throughout the holidays to non Collector Club members. Nov. 28-29 (Cyber Monday & extended into Tuesday): Their deals for Cyber Monday included lots of Classics including Primrose's Pride, Magic Spirit, Cosette, Julien and Sophia, Crane and the Champ/Poncho set. They also had a really good offering on their British Breeds Connemara pony at $25 and Shetland pony at $15. Breyer also discounted their Zodiac models to the best that they have offered them at yet. I was a bit bummed out especially since I had already bought them last year at what I thought was a good price then. Many people weren't interested in them but I personally loved the Zodiacs. They are even prettier in real life. Amongst other things, they offered the cow and calf set with Don't Look Twice for a smashing good deal of around $50 but, as with most of the items on sale, I already have them. Breyer also generously offered FREE shipping for Cyber Monday with your purchase of $25 or more. Dec. 5: If you missed the huge Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals that Breyer was offering, never fret because you have a chance again for some awesome deals today only! Cyber Monday has been extended and now includes even more deals than last time. I personally like the new ponies sale where you get Smokin' Doubledutch, Best of British Highland Pony and the Best of British Shetland Pony for only $17 each. Combine that with the Connemara Pony that was on sale for only $25 and you have a heck of a pony collection lined up. I was a bit upset that they offered the mare and foal holiday horses with a FREE American Pharoah ornament but since I already have the ornament and since you have to pay shipping, unlike when I purchased the sets last week with FREE shipping, I guess it evens out. Dec. 7: This isn't really a "deal" but I wanted to note this mid-week limited release that Breyer offered to all. His name is Olaf and he is a glossy alabaster Longhorn bull that was limited to only 350 pieces. Needless to say he sold out quick and was already unavailable by the time I received the email for him. I thought he was available only to Collector Club members but apparently he was offered to anyone who received Breyer's email subscriptions. Anyways, since he was $145 for a plain white bull, it wasn't too much of a loss to me although I'm still on the lookout for a bull for my cow collection. Dec. 9-11: If you missed when Breyer offered FREE shipping, you still had a chance to get what you want for cheap expedited shipping. If you spent $50 worth of Breyer stuff, which believe me when I say that it adds up fast, you could choose to only pay $9.95 for shipping for the entire weekend. Dec. 12: Breyer announced that this will be their last day offering FREE shipping if you want to guarantee delivery by Christmas. Dec. 16-18: This was the last offering for discounted shipping to get your purchases in time for the holidays. The holiday shipping did not apply to mare and foal sets or limited editions. The offer was good the entire weekend. Dec. 25-27: Breyer is offering their final deal of the year today. Get FREE shipping PLUS 10% off most horses on their website if you purchase $50 or more of items. You must put in the promo code at checkout for the discounts to apply. Deals are eligible until December 27th. I wanted to note that they have released Mid States "Chance" as a possible buy, which was tempting, however I'm out of money for the holidays so I had to pass.
If you missed the first Collector Club Appreciation deal offering the glossy Cosette model with your purchase of $100 or more, the deal is being offered again today only, but now Breyer is not only offereing the glossy Cosette, but a glossy version of Julien and Sophia as well. You will only get one or the other. I like this deal better than the 2015 deal because not every horse included with the $100 purchase was glossy so at least this time you will be guaranteed a rare model, plus you get FREE shipping. However, I don't collect Classics so I will pass this year.
Breyer is offering their final deal of the year today. Get FREE shipping PLUS 10% off most horses on their website if you purchase $50 or more of items. If you're a Collector Club member, you get 20% off of your $50 purchase. You must put in the promo code at checkout for the discounts to apply. Deals are eligible until December 27th. A web exclusive was offered today to Collector Club members only. It is a gambler's choice of three different colors of filigree horses on the Sherman Morgan mold. For $95 it was limited to 350 per color. You could either get Gold, Frankincense (green) or Myrrh (red) shipped randomly by Breyer.
This is Bandera. He is a metallic chestnut decorator with what appears to be petroglyph markings on the new Geronimo mold. I was excited about this horse because, for one, it is the first regular run on the Forever Siage mold and, being a mustang fan, I simply adore this mold. For another I love dappled grey horses! This horse will definitely be on my want list. Her name is Hwin. When I first saw these two, the first thought that popped into my mind was "GG Valentine and Heartbreaker". Their names are Fantasia Del C and Gozosa. I have a feeling that they will eventually replace the previous mare and foal set. I do own the glossy version of GG Valentine and Heartbreaker, but I'm not planning on buying these two. I've heard that the Andalusian Mare mold is known for being tippy, plus I'm not too fond of their plain coloring. Introducing Paint Me A Pepto and she is stunning! I love the dalmation pattern on her white markings. Very unique. She is also on one of my favorite molds from the Premier Club, the Bobby Jo mold. I bought Charlie, who was also on this mold, and I am absolutely in love with her! I hope to get this girl as well. This uniquely patterned foal is named Van Gogh. He is the son of Picasso, the Mustang of whom Breyer has already made a portrait model of. Meet Beachcomber. She is the 2017 spring flagship model, available only to Breyer brick-and-mortar retailers. I am in love with this beauty! She looks very realistic and I hope that her model is even better than her stock photo. I plan on buying her if I can get my hands on her because I don't have this mold as yet. The 2017 Breyerfest Celebration horse is Nazruddin, a chestnut Marwari. Although I love the real horse and the new mold, I have to be critical about his coloring. I have seen two different pictures of this horse and I can't tell if he is going to be more of a red chestnut or a flaxen chestnut. I have shown both above. As I am uncertain of his coloring and because I want to see what the other special runs look like, I am unsure of whether or not I will get him on the second hand market. I know that this horse won't come out until late next year but this is the 2017 Holiday Horse Winter Wonderland. I collect all the Holiday Horses but I especially want this one. I love the coloring of the horse, the mold and the owls on his back are a lovely touch.
For those of you who are considering becoming Collector Club members, you may be interested in joining because Breyer has released their new 2016/2017 grab bags. I say "new" but in reality most of the things that were in the grab bags, according to those who have already received them, were leftovers from previous grab bags. However, if you have never bought a grab bag, the treasures awaiting in the CC Grab Bags would be an awesome purchase!
Grab Bag #1 (blue) included: *Breyerfest silver filigree Sherman Morgan "Celebration" *Deer Family set *Classic grey on Ruffian mold *Eve and Claus *Best of British Highland Pony *Random Zodiac horse Grab Bag #2 (white) included: *Breyerfest special run "Buckaroo" *Cherry Creek Fonzie Merit *Harley D Zip *Shipping set *Classic Arabian set *Random Zodiac horse Grab Bag #3 (red) included: *Breyerfest Classics special run Mancha and Gato *AQHA 75th horse (assorted colors) *Cow and calf set *Parade saddle set *Liverpool jump *Elvis Presley ornaments *Random Zodiac horse It's Collector Club Appreciation day again! Last year Breyer offered this deal, which is what made me decide to join the Collector Club in the first place. Although I was disappointed because, after spending over $100 worth of items from Breyer, I didn't receive the glossy grullo AQHA model that everyone was bragging about, I realized that I was suckered into it for all the wrong reasons. The Collector Club is great! There are so many limited models accessible to members throughout the year that the glossy grullo now seems like it would have been crap compared to some of the models I've bought through being a Collector Club member. This year's Collector Club Appreciation deal didn't even phase me. It was simply a glossy Cosette. I don't collect many Classics in the first place so I didn't bite this time. He was limited to only 500 pieces to those who do and would love to add the Arabian to your collection. If you want some more Classic horses to add to your collection to go with glossy Cosette, you can add these three that have just been released. First up is Black Beauty released in yet another mold. He was originally released in his own mold back in 1980, then released on the Classics Warmblood Stallion mold more recently, in 2012. Now he is being released on the Stock Horse Gelding mold which I think is a bit more appropriate than the Warmblood since Black Beauty was a Quarter Horse. Next up is Bella. This horse is absolutely beautiful! I thought the mold would work equally well for a Thoroughbred as it would a Quarter Horse. Finally there is Forthwind the blue unicorn. If you collected the other web exclusive unicorns, this horse would fit perfectly in your collection.
I was teetering on joining the Stablemates Club last year, mostly because I don't collect stablemates (although I really should because you can buy about 10 stablemates for every traditional model) but after seeing the beautiful special runs they came out with, I'm really bummed out that I didn't. Honestly the Stablemates Club was started for people like me who can't afford the $175 models from the Premier Club or the $135 models from the Vintage Club plus shipping and the $100 deposit at sign up. I don't even enter the raffles because $150-$175 for a plastic pony is just too much for my budget. My most expensive horse is Charlie and I doubt I'll ever buy another one like her. Anyways the Stablemates Club is only a $30 deposit with each model costing only $15 plus $5.95 shipping for six different models a year. The first model being produced is a beautiful glossy paint horse on the Thoroughbred Mare mold. Racehorses were what got me into Breyer horses in the first place so this one appeals to me a little more than Primrose did last year. I've decided to join this year so I'm really hoping there are some good surprises in store! They release a Gambler's Choice in which you receive a random color from several different colors, a decorator (this year's decorator is going to be a clearware) and a new mold. I saw a preview of the new sculpture for next year and I am in LOVE with it! I think it is much more detailed than this year's Django and probably looks a lot better in real life.
Breyer has extended their FREE shipping for this weekend, starting today, so if you missed out on FREE shipping last weekend, now is your chance to get it again! I scoped up their daily deal today, which was on Foiled Again. I'm not fond of the mold but he is a portrait model of a much beloved racehorse of mine and was on sale at a really good deal, plus you got his stablemate model FREE with him and FREE shipping! I'm not sure how many of the stablemates were made but they gave them out at the Hambletonian with each child admission. In other news, Breyer held some good deals this past weekend that I took advantage of. For Collector Club members, they offered Charlie from the Vintage Club. She was available for $145 and I snagged her while I could. Now I'm happy that I did. She is beautiful in real life and I don't have an appaloosa in my herd. I also bought the three mare and foal sets with Breyer's FREE shipping offer. I really wish that Vixen and Blitzen were dappled bay pintos or at least give them tri-colored eyes. I had this mold once and actually the remake of it looked a little smaller, but otherwise I'm happy with these two. They are better looking in real life than their picture on Breyer's website shows. Eve and Claus were my favorites. I really love their coloring. If I had to choose one of the three sets, I was going to just get this one. Luckily I had enough for all of them. When I saw these two online, I thought these were probably the ones I would like the least, but actually they turned out to be my favorite of the three sets. I love the shaded coloring on the mare and the foal is adorable too, but it was the beautiful realistic dappling on the mare that sold me with them.
