Decorators are my thing. I'm mostly well known for my glow-in-the-dark Halloween decorators but I also paint other decorators as well, along with leopard appaloosas. All of my custom horses are free hand painted in 100% acrylic paints and sealed in either matte or gloss finish. Air brushing, masking and stencils have no home in my art kit... all the detail is done solely by free hand using different sizes of paint brushes. When you purchase a piece from me, you know you're getting an authentic, truly hand painted work of art that has taken hours, days and sometimes even months to complete with all the detail I put into my work. Some examples of my past artwork are viewable here on my website and I hope they help give you an example of what I do. All customs come either signed (initialled for stablemates due to their small size) on the belly or with a signed COA that can be laminated if you wish, or both!
Prices:
Stablemates - $20 ($25 if glow in the dark finish is used)
Classics - $35-$55
Traditional - $150-$350
Please understand that custom horses are a bit more delicate than original finish. They are NOT meant for play. Sometimes the finishes used with customs are a bit tacky from the matte or gloss sealer... this is perfectly normal and is the reason why I ship using either plastic in between the model and bubblewrap or the non-bubbled side of the bubblewrap depending upon what packaging I have available at the time. Air bubbles are almost impossible to completely eliminate on glossy finishes, although I do my best to try to make them as minimal as possible. Most models are either hand signed or initialed (initials more commonly on stablemates due to the lack of room) and all customs include a signed COA. I do not guarantee show quality in any of my models since I don't show but I love to hear success stories in the show ring.
I'm no longer doing commissions for customs. If you'd like to see what I currently have available for sale, you can check out either my Model Horse Store page and scroll down to "Brittany's Custom Models" or my eBay page. Every now and then I'll offer website exclusive customs not available on eBay on my website, so check back often, but beware! I've had plenty of people become addicted to my work ;)

How to care for customs:
Customs are more fragile than original finish (OF) models, however that doesn't mean that they should be ignored completely. If you have a curio or glass cabinet, that is the best place to display them to keep the dust off of them. If your model does get dusty, do NOT rinse it off with water, as this will destroy the finish and leave you with a transparent film over top the paint, nor should you use a rag to wipe it off, as this will sometimes pull the paint off ears or hooves. Instead, take an art brush to try to brush off the dust. If that doesn't work, you may dip the brush into a bowl of water, then brush the dust off that way. Be sure to wipe gently. Customs can last years as long as they are well taken care of.
