With the recent release of the Collector Club test run, a red roan drafter on the Clydesdale Stallion mold, it got me thinking about the draft molds. I love draft horses in real life. Nothing can replace the beauty of a high stepping drafter pulling a carriage with its mane and tail up in bobs and coat glistening clean. On my shelf, however, I admittedly have few of them. Just like in real life, drafters take up a lot of room, and it's no different in the Breyer world. The release of the test run though made me decide to write this post. For those who don't know, the test run is limited to 1 only... that means of all the people that enter, one lucky person will be picked, and your chances are very slim. If you do happen to be the winner, the test run costs $850 to buy, which is nearly eye popping to most collectors. Anyways... Getting back to this article, I looked at the various traditional draft horse molds and chose the ones that I thought were the pretties. This means that they are not your usual bay, chestnut, grey or black horses. Ultra rare horses such as Breyerfest raffle models, special event models, test runs and volunteer models are not included, as they are most likely not even for sale but instead are gracing the shelves of serious collectors. Understand that this is just for fun and everyone's opinion is different, which is why I ask everyone who reads this to take my placings with a grain of salt. Who knows? If anything, maybe you'll find a new horse to search for! 1. Belgian
