I mentioned this in my last blog post but Ponies and Palm Trees is now going on. After seeing the models, I'm saddened to not get to enter for this event. However, with just purchasing our new house, I didn't think it was a good time to take a vacation. I'm hoping next year, depending upon the location, I can enter. Hoping it's a little closer to the east coast. All the events seem to mostly take place in the opposite corners of the country. If you haven't seen the pamphlet yet, here were the models offered: Oh, that Duende! Golden Sunset is beautiful. I love the golden champagne color that Breyer makes very rarely. The cremello is also pretty even though it's on a vintage mold. The center piece for this event was a bay polo pony on the Smarty Jones mold... kind of saw that one coming! Although Breyer is not known for using molds similar to the theme (as we all know from Breyerfest) I felt like they'd bring back the polo pony version of Smarty Jones somewhere for this theme. I love the pictures and videos people who are there are taking and posting to social media. I'm attending the event through y'all! Although I always write about Breyer starting their Black Friday sale to Collector Club members every year, I almost missed it this year because of how early Breyer decided to have it. By the time I got on, the good stuff was already sold out. I was sad to miss out on Midas, however I did purchase a Lafayette, as I sold off my Hamilton conga last year and regretted selling Lafayette. Here is what was offered for those who are not in the club: I don't know the original prices (if anyone knows feel free to chime in for my readers) but they're usually only about $10 more or so than Breyer's original price. In other words, a whole lot cheaper than what these are going for on the second hand market.
