...and all through the grounds, model horse people flocked to the Clarion Hotel! We are leaving for Lexington soon. I've just done a video for my YouTube channel before we leave, which I'll be posting soon, and I've finished packing the last of my sale models that I'm going to be toting with me in hopes of clearing out some shelf space from my personal collection. Right now the majority of the action in Lexington is at the Clarion Hotel where people are shopping until they're dropping with model horse loot. I won't be participating at the Clarion myself this year (I can't be tempted to fill more shelf space I don't have) but feel free to share your Clarion finds if you are there yourself! I'm being ultra selective about my models this year so I'm only after Stein, Marzipan and the online Rhendish Draft for myself. I'm praying the surprise is something I don't collect because, well, space. I'm only looking to add to my congas right now. I thought I'd have a good chance of getting a Rhendish Draft until Breyer had the audacity to throw in 2,000 of 5,000 glossy versions of him in a gambler's choice, meaning you can't select if you want glossy or matte, so this will probably end up with people buying two in hopes of getting one of each. Thank you, Breyer. Usually I don't have a preference for matte or glossy but I must say that the gloss really makes this color pop. I'm therefore hoping for glossy, if I can get one at all. The people who aren't at the Clarion are already starting to line up at the KHP. This used to be called the NPOD or "Ninja Pit of Death/Doom" because Breyer used to put out special models (like test pieces, club models including rare lotteries, old Breyerfest models, etc) on Friday morning that people would stand hours, sometimes up to a whole day, in line for just to get at these models. Honestly once you were actually in the store you couldn't be real selective of your purchases or they'd get bought out from underneath you - think of virtual Breyerfest with cart thieving but in real life - and so it was a bit crazy. Thankfully Breyer has announced that they will be putting out special models throughout the weekend and not all on Friday morning to try to eliminate the NPOD... but the people are still going to sit out there anyways, if anything just to be the first people into the event.
Lots of reveals await tomorrow morning and I promise to update as I can... get some sleep everyone! Good night! Comments are closed.
