When Breyer revealed Mojave and Full Moon Rising, I thought that they usually released more models than that for the mid year releases, and for whatever reason we are in fact getting more releases this year, just a bit delayed. If you haven't seen them by now, here is the rest of the lineup: I thought that this model would have been a good fit for Breyerfest, however Breyer delayed releasing this mold until now, and as the Hackney pony Norwich. While not a portrait model of a real horse, his name is a nod to the region of England where they hail from. He is stated to be a chestnut, although he has the darker points similar to the Secretariat model Breyer made for the Vintage Club. This one is a portrait model. It is the portrait model of Clooney 51, the famous Olympic show jumper, made on the Bristol mold. To me, he looks similar to Get Rowdy, also on the Bristol mold, except that he is a fleabitten grey whereas the other is a lightly dappled grey. It makes me want to buy both. My favorite of the three regular run releases is Cody's Wish. As a racing fan, I've followed Cody's Wish in real life, all the way to his last race at Saratoga in the Whitney Stakes. I was rooting for him but unfortunately he lost at the Graveyard of Champions. However, I would be honored to own his model, as he was a horse with a touching story that I think should be told. The fall decorator for 2023, which is a limited edition release, is Leif. This guy is pretty cool, I love the shading in his coat and especially his tail. He was painted in autumn colors with gold leaves blowing on his sides. Personally, I'm not too thrilled with the fall flagship brick-and-mortar limited edition, as he's another bay after getting bay Mariposa and Flor, as well as Bolero earlier in the year. Barranco is a metallic bay Peruvian Paso. He looks very similar to Cobrizo except with more white.
That does it for new releases so far. We still have yet to see the holiday specials and Jota, as well as the Vintage Club gambler's choice and the final Premier Club release. Comments are closed.
