Not surprisingly the Seattle Soiree was cancelled, and I fear Breyerfest may be next. Amazing how things have changed so much in such a short time. At least for Seattle Soiree attendees, they are offering your choice of either a full refund or to keep your tickets and be sent Puget and Redmond. The special runs for Seattle Soiree will be distributed based on a lottery selection. If Breyerfest were cancelled, it would probably be similar, with your choice of either cancellation or to be sent the celebration model with special runs via lottery. This way will certainly help those who are typically unable to attend to be able to purchase Breyerfest specials so it won't surprise me if tickets sell out completely this year. I'm wondering how they'll do store specials though? Will they even have the pop-up tent specials or single day models? How will the show work (if they'll even have a show?) because apparently they are still having the diorama contest after today's reveal of the prize model, shown above. I guess the diorama contest could be done via photo but the live show would be a little trickier since not all flaws can be seen in photos, unlike in real life. I think it would be smarter if they just cut the shows out and refunded those who bought table space. Losing money from shows is a small cut compared to the losses some companies are taking from this lockdown.
Our state is currently under a mandatory stay home order for the next two weeks. The day before the lockdown started while we were out shopping for what little remnants of food were left after the panic buying, we stopped at Walmart for some customizing fodder. There was a newly opened box of unicorns complete with a chaser so now I have three total rainbow Magnolias and enough unicorns to keep me busy the entire lockdown. It may seem an excessive amount but it's my little light in a dark world right now. Comments are closed.
