Breyer has a few limited editions coming out mid year. Here is a sneak peek at what's to come. If you haven't seen this guy, he was released as a spring special right before the Fourth of July. His name is Patriot and he is a translucent clearware model made on the traditional American Saddlebred mold. He was made to represent the United States flag. Surely a one-of-a-kind piece to add to your collection! He was limited to only 3,000 pieces. Poltergeist was the 2016 Halloween horse and was limited to only 3,000 pieces. The skeleton and the white areas on his body glow in the dark. I bought him when Breyer offered their free shipping for the fourth of July so I bought him for the same price that my flagship retailer would have wanted for him. He was sold out within a week on Breyer's website. This is my first Halloween horse, as I don't often collect them even though I customize them, but I really wanted this one because I love the Ruffian mold. Gold Valegro was released in honor of the famous dressage horse's win in the Olympics this year. He was limited to 3,000 pieces. Although I think it is neat that they did this, I probably won't buy one. Even with his gloss, he is still just a plain gold horse, which is steep for his $60 price tag. Xavier the Mystical Unicorn was done on the Othello mold. Although I love this mold too, I'm not too fond of unicorns or mythical creatures so I'll probably pass. You can't really tell from the picture but his mane, tail, hooves and horn are glittery. He really is a one of a kind horse that would be perfect in a decorator collection. He too was limited to 3,000 pieces and was offered for $55. There are two Tractor Supply special runs being released this year. The first is Santana, a beautiful bay pinto mustang on the popular Silver mold. He is very similar to the Treasure Hunt model released back in 2007 so had I bought that one, I probably wouldn't have bought this guy. At first I thought it was a reissue of that same horse until I realized that there was different facial markings and bay coloring on this horse's withers, but more white on his mane than the 2007 model. When I first saw Garrett, I thought he was a buckskin. It turns out he is actually a light bay roan color. He has small freckles in his body coloring that are hard to see in the picture. He is a Quarter Horse on the Smart Chic Olena mold that was Tractor Supply's second special run for this year. This is the Mid States release, Chance. He is a gorgeous red dun Paint horse on the Zippo Pine Bar mold. I personally am not a big fan of this mold, however I do love his coloring. Unfortunately I don't collect Mid States though. Glorioso is a grullo Iberian horse on the Andalusian mold. In real life he is more of a metallic color than the picture shows. He was the 2016 fall flagship model that was limited to only 2,500 pieces and sold out pretty quickly at most brick-and-mortar stores. Woodland Splendor is the last, but certainly not least in this limited edition lineup. He is the 2016 Holiday Horse. Being that my original Breyer herd consisted of racehorses, I am happy that they did this horse on a Thoroughbred mold. The coloring is also beautiful. I can't wait to see this horse in person!
