Breyer is offering their final deal of the year today. Get FREE shipping PLUS 10% off most horses on their website if you purchase $50 or more of items. If you're a Collector Club member, you get 20% off of your $50 purchase. You must put in the promo code at checkout for the discounts to apply. Deals are eligible until December 27th. A web exclusive was offered today to Collector Club members only. It is a gambler's choice of three different colors of filigree horses on the Sherman Morgan mold. For $95 it was limited to 350 per color. You could either get Gold, Frankincense (green) or Myrrh (red) shipped randomly by Breyer.
It's Collector Club Appreciation day again! Last year Breyer offered this deal, which is what made me decide to join the Collector Club in the first place. Although I was disappointed because, after spending over $100 worth of items from Breyer, I didn't receive the glossy grullo AQHA model that everyone was bragging about, I realized that I was suckered into it for all the wrong reasons. The Collector Club is great! There are so many limited models accessible to members throughout the year that the glossy grullo now seems like it would have been crap compared to some of the models I've bought through being a Collector Club member. This year's Collector Club Appreciation deal didn't even phase me. It was simply a glossy Cosette. I don't collect many Classics in the first place so I didn't bite this time. He was limited to only 500 pieces to those who do and would love to add the Arabian to your collection. If you want some more Classic horses to add to your collection to go with glossy Cosette, you can add these three that have just been released. First up is Black Beauty released in yet another mold. He was originally released in his own mold back in 1980, then released on the Classics Warmblood Stallion mold more recently, in 2012. Now he is being released on the Stock Horse Gelding mold which I think is a bit more appropriate than the Warmblood since Black Beauty was a Quarter Horse. Next up is Bella. This horse is absolutely beautiful! I thought the mold would work equally well for a Thoroughbred as it would a Quarter Horse. Finally there is Forthwind the blue unicorn. If you collected the other web exclusive unicorns, this horse would fit perfectly in your collection.
Breyer has extended their FREE shipping for this weekend, starting today, so if you missed out on FREE shipping last weekend, now is your chance to get it again! I scoped up their daily deal today, which was on Foiled Again. I'm not fond of the mold but he is a portrait model of a much beloved racehorse of mine and was on sale at a really good deal, plus you got his stablemate model FREE with him and FREE shipping! I'm not sure how many of the stablemates were made but they gave them out at the Hambletonian with each child admission. In other news, Breyer held some good deals this past weekend that I took advantage of. For Collector Club members, they offered Charlie from the Vintage Club. She was available for $145 and I snagged her while I could. Now I'm happy that I did. She is beautiful in real life and I don't have an appaloosa in my herd. I also bought the three mare and foal sets with Breyer's FREE shipping offer. I really wish that Vixen and Blitzen were dappled bay pintos or at least give them tri-colored eyes. I had this mold once and actually the remake of it looked a little smaller, but otherwise I'm happy with these two. They are better looking in real life than their picture on Breyer's website shows. Eve and Claus were my favorites. I really love their coloring. If I had to choose one of the three sets, I was going to just get this one. Luckily I had enough for all of them. When I saw these two online, I thought these were probably the ones I would like the least, but actually they turned out to be my favorite of the three sets. I love the shaded coloring on the mare and the foal is adorable too, but it was the beautiful realistic dappling on the mare that sold me with them.
