While I originally intended to start these posts by going over my personal favorite molds, I've decided to throw in a bit of Breyerfest history in the mix since we're winding down to the big event faster than we realize. I'm going to start with a beloved mold that not only myself loves, but many others as well. In fact, I don't know too many in the hobby that wouldn't deny owning something on the mold, or perhaps already has something on the mold... OTHELLO. More commonly called Wintersong since Othello was originally a porcelain model and remade later in plastic as Wintersong, whom most people know the mold as. With Breyer not releasing much new lately, I have decided to write some posts (possibly weekly? maybe twice a week?) about my favorite molds up until Breyerfest. These will just be for fun and to reminisce on what are probably a lot of your favorites too! I began collecting during the Moody area so a lot of my personal favorites were sculpted by her *cough* Emma *cough* and will be in the posts quite a bit.
Another change I've been thinking about regarding my website are sales. I know a few dealers that have sales on their websites around Christmas and Breyerfest (aka Christmas in July for horse lovers) however to me I think those are inconvenient times for most people considering that they're saving for both. I was thinking about offering a model selling event once a year but I would like my readers opinion as to the best time to do so. Would you enjoy a Breyerfest or Christmas sale despite the costs involved or perhaps some time in November right before Christmas, or even spring to fall around tax season. I was thinking about saving models throughout the year to offer solely for this event, although since I'm just starting out, I can't offer new models every Friday like some of the more popular dealers. Maybe in time :) Let me know what you guys think in the comments! I encourage comments even if you typically don't because I don't have a way to do a poll and I'd really love to know what you guys are interested in. Thanks, everyone! |
