I'm loving the colorful lineup this year. So far there isn't a single model I don't like. This year might be my favorite yet. While we wait for the next reveal, here is a picture of the sneak peek that Breyer showed us today: The popular guess on the internet is Cancion, the new Paso Fino mold. Since we haven't seen him, nor the draft mare and foal, nor the animal yet, nor the decorator yet, I'm guessing that the final four reveals will be these. We're also still waiting on a final limited edition. While we're on the subject, I was going to talk about some important changes to be had regarding Breyerfest.
Firstly, I will no longer be selling limited editions. You may have noticed that they've been removed from my pickup page, and that's because I'm no longer going to be offering them. Breyer limits you to ONE model per person at a time in the Breyerfest store at the KHP, so if I have to do several pickups for the same model, I have to go through the store multiple times. The wait for the store is at least an hour long which is a lot of time I'm standing in in the heat. Since they're now available to be ordered online, I highly recommend purchasing at least a stablemate online access ticket and purchasing them in the online store if you're interested in any of them. Secondly, I will be offering a few more limited spots for the in person only models on Friday, January 26th at 3 PM central time. If you missed the original round of models, I always offer a second round later in the month because I understand that it is hard to purchase them back-to-back as Breyer releases them. Again, these will be for the in person models only. They will last until sell out or until January 31st, whichever comes soonest. They will be extremely limited, I'm talking only one or two spots of each model, so be sure to mark your calendar. After this second wave, I will not be offering any more pickups for 2024. I may have extras available during Breyerfest week but no guarantees I'll have extras of each model. Finally, if you purchased ONE special run from me this year, you'll receive a 30% off coupon for the celebration horse at an announced date after February 1st. You have a week to use the code, or until the celebration model sells out. Code can only be used for ONE celebration horse, you cannot use the code to purchase multiple celebration horses. If you purchased TWO or more special runs from me, you'll get the celebration horse for FREE with the additional cost of shipping, which is a set $20. If you don't want the celebration horse, you can always contact me to let me know and I won't bill you the extra $20 to your shipping total when shipping is calculated in July. Shipping depends upon how many models you pre-order from me. I hope that covers about all the questions that I've gotten so far, plus my upcoming plans for next year. The option of my payment plan versus pay in full will be here to stay for 2025 that way everyone is not overwhelmed in June when that second payment is due for my payment plan. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected] and be sure you add Breyerfest 2024 to the title in the email so it doesn't go to my SPAM folder. Hope y'all being affected by the snowstorms are staying warm out there! Until tomorrow... Y'all... y'all... I can't with this next reveal. Not only is it on one of my all-time favorite molds, as Ashquar still to me depicts the fierness of the Arabian breed better than any Arabian mold in the traditional line to date (this may change if they ever revert Twist to traditional size) but it is also one of my favorite colors, grey, and look at those dapples! I think those are the most realistic dapples Breyer has made so far if they are anything close to the stock photo. They don't look like the perfect fishscale circles Breyer likes to use. He is also glossy to boot. He is available to in person attendees only, so if you'd like me to pick him up for you, he will be listed today at 3 PM central time.
***EDITED TO THOSE WHO ASKED: If you missed out on my initial presale of the in person Breyerfest exclusives, Sorry Not Sorry and My Fight Song, I will be offering another round of models later in January at a pre announced time. I have a VERY LIMITED number of spots remaining that will be offered, as I understand that we're coming right out of Christmas and people are still recovering financially. Please visit my blog to watch for this second wave of models. Also, if you're a subscriber, you'll be one of the first to know! To become a subscriber there is a form on my home page. I'll try to do what I can for everyone this year. Can't Bring Us Down and Miss Independent will be available until sell out or January 31. Rachel Platten is a singer I can get on board with, as her songs have powerful meanings behind them and she is one of my personal favorite modern pop artists. This next reveal is based off of one of her more popular songs: My Fight Song. He is a flashy chestnut frame overo on the new Lipizzan Stallion mold. Two back to back colorful horses on the same mold is rare, so I'm sure this guy will be super popular to those who own the original leopard appy. Unlike my previous releases, this guy will be posted at 3 PM central time TODAY, not tomorrow as per usual. I will be busy during 3 PM tomorrow so I won't be able to post him. I know this isn't much time and I apologize in advance but at least Breyer made the courtesy to reveal this boy on a Friday when most people get paid.
It appears not only are we dealing with a rescue theme this year, but are also on a music hype, as all the models have so far been liked to empowering song lyrics. This next reveal is no different. This is the first in-person exclusive, Sorry Not Sorry. He is a handsome dapper glossy leopard appaloosa on the Salinero mold. He has lots of mottling to boot. I doubt they'll make a matte version of this guy since they advertised him as glossy. As always, if you'd like me to pick up Sorry Not Sorry for you, I will be posting slots for him on my Breyerfest Pickup page, along with the mule at 3 PM central time today. This guy, being in person only, will be a bit more limited in how many pickups I'm doing so be sure to stick around if you're planning on adding him to your collection!
Also, just a quick side note, I had someone ask if they can purchase multiple quantities of the SAME special run, so here's the deal... if this guy doesn't sell out within 24 hours of posting him, you can purchase as many as you'd like until the spots are filled. If you have multiple collectors in your household, or if you want an extra to flip, I'll start allowing extra purchases beginning tomorrow at 3 PM central time on any of the special runs posted so far. Breyer threw a curveball at us with this next reveal, who is a limited edition portrait model for Breyerfest, but is not a horse... he is a mule. Defying the odds of show jumping by proving that mules can be just as well rounded as horses in the equestrian sports, Alan A Day's Work is a beautiful bay roan appaloosa mule that has both the looks, talent and color to boot! He would fit in great with any mule conga (by the way, Breyer, while we're on that subject... we need a new mule mold released through the Premier Club like yesterday... but I digress) and the limited editions are overall awesome this year. A big change from the bays, chestnuts and light greys of previous years. This beautiful mule will be available to everyone at 3 PM central time tomorrow. I have a feeling this model will vary greatly in his roaning so I will be giving the option of lots of roaning or not much roaning, if you'd like me to hand pick one for you. So far, the only model that has sold out is Miss Independent through the buy it now option. I still have a few open spots for the payment plan option for her though. Pickup spots will be left up on my website until January 31st or until they sell out.
Breyer is allowing signups now for their Spokes and Spurs event in Oklahoma. My dreams of attending that event (and meeting up with a hobby friend of mine) was shattered when they announced the price of tickets. They used to be $200 but this year they are - wait for it - $375 per person! While I understand that many people flip the event model to recoup some of that cash, as the event models are limited to only 200 total, that is way over my comfort level of spending for plastic ponies, as this doesn't even include the travel costs or special run event models. Now I know there are serious collectors that read my blog who feel otherwise, and that's perfectly fine, as you're entitled to spend your money however you want, but for me personally it isn't doable. My real horse rescue is taking up so much of my money these days that I have to be picky about what I buy plastic pony wise. In my dreams I'd love to have a couple super rare models, so those of you who are chosen for the event have my envy. Good luck to all who enter! Breyer is coming on heavy with the reveals this week! At this rate they'll have them all shown before the middle of January. I swear it keeps getting earlier and earlier each year. Anyways, next up on the list of special runs - and it's one I think most people are going to like as it's on a more modern mold - is American Idol based Miss Independent - a beautiful dunalino on the Cantering Warmblood mold. She will be available at 3 PM central time tomorrow on my Breyerfest pickup page at both the pay in full price and my payment plan option. Now, the big moment we've been waiting for (and not soon enough, if you ask me!) the 2024 regular run reveal! First up is the new annual Hope collection model, Love and Hope. They are an adorable rainbow unicorn Classics sized pair with an all new Arabian mold for the mare! Next up are a new series of Classics. With most of the Classics retiring last year, this was to be expected, but what wasn't expected is this all new elemental series. Decorator collectors will be happy this year with woodgrain Thoroughbred Teak representing wood, silver chrome Iridium on the Harper mold representing metal, soil colored Terran on the draft mold representing earth, clearware Brandell on the American dream mold representing fire, and clearware blue Kai on the Morgan mold representing water. Now, on to the traditionals. No stablemates are in the lineup this year. The first traditional is my personal favorite, Atlanta, the famous trotting mare that proved that girls can do just as much as boys can. She is on the color that best suits this mold for the breed she is, and I think we all can appreciate Breyer finally making a bay on this mold. I love how they included her neck tattoo. She will be joining my herd and growing conga upon her release. Cossaco is another I'll probably end up getting for my personal collection, as I love his color. Although this mold was originally intended to be a Barb, I thought he looked more of Spanish origin, and thus he is portrayed this time as a Lusitano stallion... and a beautiful one at that! Going back to decorators for a sec, we have Neptune, who is the yearly unicorn on the popular Esprit mold. This time, however, he is done on the color shifting blue of one of my all time favorite Breyers, Mirror Image. He will be a joy to any decorator or unicorn collection for sure! There is no doubt that I'll be adding this next horse to my personal collection, being both a Kentucky Horse Park attendee for years now and a Kentucky resident myself. This is Legend, one of the newest mounted police horses at the KHP. I've always wanted Breyer to do a model of him since I saw him last year at Breyerfest and now they have! He is also on one of my conga molds to boot... Georg! Finally, last but not least, I'd like to introduce the latest Orren Mixer. Plot twist though... it's not on Geronimo this year. I didn't know that Orren Mixer did portraits of Pony of the Americas, but apparently he did, and Breyer portrayed one of them in a stunning semi leopard appaloosa color. Breyer... oh, Breyer... why must you keep using the Nikolas mold? After his release at Breyerfest, I ended up with maybe one or two of these that weren't tippy to some extent. The majority had to either have their legs repositioned or museum tack used to make sure they didn't play dominos if I accidentally bumped the shelf they were perched on. Had this horse been done on any other mold, I'd loved to have had it, especially with that flashy coloring. This is by far the most detailed color Nikolas has been made on thus far. Towards the end of the year, we will be getting another Halloween and Christmas horse. These will not be available until usually after July, however they've already been revealed so I will add them to this list. The Halloween horse is Beowulf, and he's pretty cool. He has wolf scratches on his face and body with glow in the dark wolves throughout. The holiday horse is Apres Ski who coincidentally comes with cute little skis on his blanket. I'm curious as to why Breyer chose to use vintage molds for these two this year - and yes, I'm considering Big Ben vintage because he's over 20 years old - as it seems to me like they wouldn't be as hot of a sell than if they used more modern molds. I know they've used vintage molds for the holiday horse before in the past, but I wasn't expecting it for the Halloween horse, which is usually a modern mold.
The first Breyerfest limited edition has been shown today. He is an adorable pinto pony that was rescued from a Texas auction house (most likely the infamous Bowie kill pen) and turned into a children's show jumper where he now teaches lessons to up-and-coming riders. How cool is that? He is too adorable for words. This lucky pony is available to all ticket holders in the Breyerfest store. If you would like me to hand pick a model for you, I will be offering a limited amount of his model for sale today at 3 PM central time when I release They Can't Hold Us Down. The reason limited editions don't cost as much as the special runs is because I don't need to pay for a special ticket to get them. EDITED: I will no longer be offering pay in full on special runs and limited editions at this time. I will be offering models available at full cost at a later date. Sorry for the confusion. If you have any issues with checkout, please let me know. Thank you!
Behold, the first Breyerfest special run reveal for 2024! This is They Can't Hold Us Down (I'm loving the long names!) and she is a beautiful red dun brindle pinto on the Indian Pony mold. While she is being offered to both online and in person ticket holders, Breyer hasn't yet stated if online ticket holders will be able to choose their models this year or not, so if you'd like me to pick her up for you to guarantee you'll get this particular model, she'll be posted tomorrow at 3 PM central time on my Breyerfest Pickups page. Limited quantities will be available. It is always nice to see the return of the Indian Pony, one of my personal favorite of the vintage molds, and I'm not surprised at all with the use of a Mustang. The top breeds I see being used in this theme are stock horses, Mustangs, Thoroughbreds and Arabians. However, this is only the second time Breyer has offered a brindle for Breyerfest, the last being Queen of Hearts, so that makes her even more special. Personally I can't wait to see this gal in hand!
This year already seems off to a good start based upon the first sneak peek for the traditional lineup. We don't know as yet if this will be a limited edition or a special run, but it's a good one nonetheless! We're getting a brindle, y'all! It appears that it's going to be on a vintage mold based on the raised plastic, and many are guessing the Indian pony, which to me seems reasonable since mustangs are one of the breeds most often seen at kill pens. Breyer has stated that we'll get the full reveal tomorrow, and then I'll list the first ones for sale on my Breyerfest pickup page the day after at a preannounced time, which will be stated on the reveal post. I have just added the event stablemates to the celebration horse on my Breyerfest pickup page, so if you're interested in any of them, be sure to get your order in before they sell out. I'm only offering limited quantities of the event stablemates this year but prices for the stablemates will be staying the same as last year.
Happy new year! If y'all know my love of filigrees, then you'll understand why I'm in absolute love with the 2024 event stablemates! Breyer has translated the beautiful metallic shimmery color of the Santa Surprise into four different filigree colors and plastered them on some of our favorite stablemate molds. If we all loved the Santa Surprise, why can't we love the color on stablemates as well? I'm not part of the Taylor Swift generation but someone noted that Breyer created these with her reference in mind. I do love the adorable diamond shaped boxes! Breyer did the same thing for their anniversary year in 2014 when they released four deco stablemates in honor of their silver jubilee anniversary. Since this year will also be an anniversary year, I was expecting the same, but I think these rainbow colors are 10x better than the silvers offered that year. Will we see these put on traditionals as micro runs? Breyer seems big on the metallic filigrees of late so I hope so! As I promised once Breyer revealed the colors, I would offer the event models the next day, therefore these guys will be available on my Breyerfest Pickups page starting tomorrow and lasting through sell out. Paypal will be added as a checkout option for the Breyerfest models. Also new for this year I will be offering a 4 pack at a slightly reduced price from the singles if you want all four, or if you just want one or two to add to the conga, you can do that too!
This is only the tip of the iceburg. I'm hoping we'll start seeing the traditionals soon! |
